Smut Marathon 2018: The Writers

Smut Marathon Writers

I have been planning this for months… the revival of the Smut Marathon, and of course, the first edition of the new Smut Marathon. From 15 December 2017, the day the entries opened, my emotions ran from excitement to gratitude and back to excitement again. From the moment the entries opened until they closed on 20 January 2018, there were only 3 days on which I have not received an entry. By the time the entries closed, there were 89 participants. Eighty-nine!
(Note: On receiving the first assignment two people have withdrawn from the race, therefore there are only 87 names listed below.)

We have introduced the jury in the past weeks, but now it’s time to introduce the participants.
However, before I do that, I want to point out two things to you, which are of the utmost importance to the writers, but it’s good for readers/voters and jury members to be aware of them too:

  • Rules (I find the most important rule number 6 under the heading, ‘The time path’,)
  • Planning (note the dates in your agenda, writers, and never be late with sending in your stories)

Then, let’s get to the most important part of this post: the participants. They are listed in alphabetical order. Go follow them on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms and go read their blogs!

Scroll down and meet the writers!

Andra Ashe

Website: Andra Ashe

A sensualist and a romantic, Andra writes about heroes and heroines who veer from the mainstream to indulge their desires and find love. As a self-confessed genre-hopper, her erotic romances span historical, contemporary and paranormal.

When not arm-wresting her Muse over plot lines, or who gets to wear the stilettos, Andra can be found wielding a paint brush at her latest renovation site. She sees renovating as a lot like writing; you start with something that’s rough around the edges and pummel it into submission.

Andra lives in Melbourne (Australia) with her wonderful man and her never-ending TBR pile and hopes her adult children aren’t too traumatised by having a mother who writes smutty stories.

Asrai Devin

Website: Asrai Devin
Twitter: @asrai

Writing romance and smut are the only things I ever wanted to do. Making up stories began as a coping mechanism and grew into a compulsion. Writing is frustrating and only a select few things make me happier.

I’m Asrai a water fae from Canada. I have two kids, a husband, and a needy dog. I’m a sports fan by marriage.

I am bisexual, kinky, and poly, living in a heterosexual monogamous marriage so writing lets me explore my fantasies. I can sometimes be a brat, but it’s only to make you smile. I might be a masochist, but you’ll have to catch me before you can find out.

I have several mental illnesses; I dabble in social justice; I am constantly distracted or hyperfocused. When I’m procrastinating writing I game, hang out on social media, read, and clean the house if there’s nothing else to do.

My other social media accounts are:

I don’t use those as often as Twitter, mainly because Facebook is like the parents of teenagers who like to pretend their kids aren’t thinking about sex.

BadKitten74

Twitter: @badkitten74

I found my love of erotic literature late in life. I’ve written several stories but never had anything published and I have not done any blogging either. I’m scared to put myself out there like this but I think it’s time. I have had many people tell me I need to find a way to publish what I have. That may come in time.

I’m 43. Divorced and I’m the mother of three teenage boys. I work full time. I am also a submissive/little. I am collared and owned and all his.

Being a little at my age was a strange at first but something really clicked. I’ve read extensively and researched. I try my best to mentor new friends in the lifestyle when all possible. I’m open minded to new experiences at all times.

Howdy, you can call me Betty! I’m an autistic, queer, kinky married nerd. (I use she/her pronouns, mostly.) I’m passionate about neurodiversity, fat acceptance, gender and queerness, and safe and consensual kink. I’m probably a little TOO passionate about comics, Star Wars, and my boy Buster.

I’m new to sex blogging, but I’ve been spinning up erotic tales for well over a decade. My writing roots are in fanfiction (long lost in the fall of Livejournal’s fandom communities) where I learned to love my queerness and my sexual self – something I try to inspire in others through my writing.

Brigit Delaney

Website: Brigit writes
Twitter: @brigitwrites

I’ve been “sex-blogging” on and off since 2010, beginning with The Lustful Literate (now archived) and recently resurfacing with Brigit Writes. I’m trying to focus in on what really matters to me as a blogger, which is honest confessional writing about sex and marriage – and celebrating the beautiful messiness of long-term relationships. I’m a wife, mom and full-time professional, so writing has always sort of taken a back burner. The smut marathon will hopefully help me bring it a little closer to the front. Aside from writing, love snuggling on the couch watching movies with my family and pets, reading, yoga, and enjoying the great outdoors here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest (U.S.).

Byron Cane

Website: Byron Cane Spanking and Erotic Fiction

A brief bio of Byron Cane

My name is Cane, Byron Cane, but you may call me Sir. If that’s not pretentious enough, my blog handle is Lurv Spanking, because, as a reader once said, ‘who doesn’t lurv spanking?’

I write short stories, flash fiction, poetry and essays at my blog called Spank me hard… Please? which can be enjoyed at http://lurvspanking.com

My spanking short stories are primarily written from a submissive female perspective while the longer novellas and novels expand upon the dominant role whether male or female. The lead submissive characters are strong and capable. At the same time they project vulnerability and struggle with the acceptance of discipline from others. Some of my fiction includes sex but not all. I try to write with this motto in mind. Capturing the conflict and defiance within every true submissive: the need to be chastised and loved at the same time.

I’ve been told I write ‘quirky’, I’ll leave that up to the reader to decide. My settings are drawn in broad strokes rather than sharp details and historical places are not exacting. I use extensive dialogue to move the story forward and use minimal internal introspection and physical descriptions. I try to showcase the emotions of the characters during discipline and sex scenes instead of focusing on every single erotic detail.

I want my characters to be empowered by sex and discipline not degraded.

A lifelong reader, I tend towards science fiction, alternate history, fantasy, paranormal and Regency romance.

You can contact me at byroncanefiction@gmail.com, but to clear up any confusion, I am male and married for thirty years.

Chase Morgan is your average guy with a mind that tends to drift while out to dinner with friends and during work meetings. As his muse and biggest supporter, she encouraged him to take a stab at sharing his unruly mind with the world. She doesn’t wonder about Sasquatch’s masturbatory habits, but she is great at humoring him when his mind takes off in the woods. His work can be found in print, digitally and in audio. I have loved literature of all types but it is only recently that I have discovered erotica. Well it seemed to find me and we have been enjoying each others company for the last few months. Years ago I used to work in theatre and television though when I was at school I was told a career in a bank was the job for me. I’m glad I didn’t listen to the advice as I am useless with numbers and the roar of the crowd and smell of greasepaint was much more to my taste. Now I am enjoying writing erotica with a similar relish.

Having worked as a screenwriter for over a decade and written extensively on film, the arts, culture, science and disability issues, I joined the London Disability Arts Forum where I took on the roles of Editor of the bi-monthly magazine Art Disability Culture, Europe’s only dedicated Deaf and Disability Arts & Culture magazine and Co-Director of X’08, the 8th London International Disability Film Festival. In 2008, I went freelance. I’ve interviewed talent as diverse as Sean Bean, Kim Cattrall, Danny Dyer and Bobcat Goldthwait, it has seen me dislocate a finger while firing an AK-47 under simulated combat conditions, take part in a séance, be hypnotised and regressed to a past life, learn the art of Zen Archery and spend World Smurf Day dressed as a Smurf (pictures available on request). More recently, I’ve finally started exploring my own creative potential as a writer with short fiction.

Dammit, I never know what to say on these bios. Do I do third person, like I’m not in the room, or first person just saying something about myself? I’d love to do second, my favorite, but so it’s hard…
‘He had to introduce himself, so he said “I’m Elliott”. That was it, just “I’m Elliott”. Pressed further he said “I like to write, been doing a blog, mostly short stories for almost ten years, and a photoblog, pic of the day, that kind of thing. Two years ago I started a sex blog, because I like sex, actually obsessed with sex. My other blog has suffered. My photoblog has suffered too, because I’ve been using my camera for my sex blog ‘Life of Elliott’.” He was getting fidgety and looked ready to bolt, so was asked what part of the world he hailed from. “I live on an island in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.” And what is your sex blog about, and why are you doing the Smut Marathon was the last question. “Oh, all kinds of things, mostly masturbation as I have no partner at present, memoirs, photos, lots of photos, you know the kind I mean.” Dick Picks he was asked. “Well, I prefer Cock Shots, but yes, a lot of that, purely to illustrate my stories, of course. I enjoy an occasional trip to the mainland, friends there, the benefit kind you know, so once in a while a story like that. Trying to retire, so planning to have more time to write stories, and the Marathon seemed like a good place to test my writing chops, and hopefully, display more of my ‘photographic skills’, if you know what I mean. Hey, can I put a photo on my Bio?.” Marie shook her head and thanked him for his time.’

Emmanuelle Petit

Twitter: @EmmPetitWrites

Hi All, my name is Emmanuelle Petit (yes it is a Pseudonym.) and by day I am 26 year old British – Trinidadian cis female of mixed descent. I am freelance accountant and student by day but by night I am a budding writer of all things sexual.

I feel in love with smut or ‘romance with an erotic twist’ genre in my teens when I first read Cheaters by Eric Jerome Dickey. Since then, I have been obsessed with the art of smut reading anyone from EJD to Anais Nin and have loved it all.

I believe erotica be an art form when written beautifully. However, these days with self-publishing you can run into some authors who do it for a quick quid but no real love for it. Personally I think as a writer we have a duty as writers to provide our readers with quality reading material that allows them to escape their lives.

We just like our readers all have fantasies and they say to write what you like and that’s what you will write best. So I am a bit partial to interracial erotica but the reverse of the ever popular BBC and love the BWC.

So my goal as a writer is to cater to the fantasy of women of colour like me who share similar kinks. Books which will allow the reader to indulge in a fantasy with a heroine similar to themselves with similar cultural conflicts, etc. I want to bring to life for them any fantasy under this type of relationship dynamic. Whether it be the fantasy of a dominate white man who can nurture their little side and be his cum slut. Or a normal vanilla fantasy of a BWC who will be her prince charming and make her cum hard.

In writing, she likes to challenge her own psychology, her emotions and her boundaries. She has been fascinated by mythology and other ancient stories since she was very young and much of her longer work is influenced by such tales. Although she writes in all prose forms, the short story remains dearest to her heart.

Ina’s work is published on all digital platforms and her emotive short stories have appeared in a variety of magazines and anthologies. Ina is also owner of Clarian Press, publisher of passion-fuelled work from erotica to literary and women’s fiction.

Kinky, geeky, and queer; I’ve become an avid writer of erotica since starting my blog in 2015. Initially I wanted to do only sex toy reviews and more serious pieces, but I had a hard time breaking into those topics so sex stories became a part of my writing process and I like to think I’m good at it. I live in the northeastern U.S. with my loving partner of several years and an adorable (and tailless) cat that thinks he is a toddler. Fairly new to erotica publishing, but a long-time writer. I’m really looking forward to all of the wonderful sex-positive writing and working on skills so that maybe I can do this more seriously (or, at least, as seriously but in higher quality). Openly bisexual. Married to a wonderful, supportive partner who allows the safe space to explore monogamish situations with communication and trust.

Happily married, submissive house wife. Welcome to my crazy little world! Bi, poly, little, Kinky AF and lover of life. I live with my husband / Dom, and his 3 other female subs, who are also my playmates! (Babe, Kitten and little bear.) Blogging about my life, loves and the odd kinky story a long the way!

Posy Churchgate

Website: Pillow Talk by Posy Churchgate
Twitter: @Posychurchgate

I’m a woman who’s kept my sexy side bubbling under my whole life. I love to chat about sex, relationships and kinks, it intrigues me and gives an illicit thrill, but it also makes me realise how much more open-minded and adventurous I am than most of the folk I know. Well, that was true until I joined the community of people blogging about sex, I’ve found my team at last!

I’ve always enjoyed reading erotica – I started with Victorian underground texts and lads mags. Later I read books like Black Lace and downloaded adult novels onto my Kindle, so having discovered sites like Literotica, I expanded my reading tastes to sex in many genres and exploring kinks.

I’ve been ‘sex’ blogging for a year (having run a book reviewing blog for 5 years) but I’m not very technically minded, so my site isn’t flash and I’m very new to Twitter. I also use Google+ to promote posts when I create them. I call my loyal followers my Dark Darlings and some write me lovely comments and feedback.

One of my most exciting achievements is when both women and men write positive remarks about my erotic writing. Being heterosexual I think I know what turns men on, but I feel validated to discover I know what turns women, bi-sexual or pansexual folk on too.

One of my disappointments is that I cannot boast to friends or family when I have successes with my erotic writing. Only a few friends know what I do – to most people I am a mother, an administrator, a crazy dog lady and an avid reader.

My mother was a writer, and I’m sure she’d support what I do if she were still around. She was very open minded and even toyed with writing erotica herself at one point. Currently I’m trying to get her unpublished work into a public domain, and in doing so I’ve discovered she wrote quite ‘saucy’ passages in her novels!

I’m not apologetic about my erotic writing, I’m actually energised by doing it and proud of what I create, but I keep my Posy persona discreet for the sake of my immediate family’s privacy.

Quirky Mischief

Website: Quirky Mischief
Twitter: @quirkymischief

Hi, I normally write about the negative aspects I’ve experienced like gaslighting and depression but the reason I call myself Quirky is there is also a very erotic, sensual little pixie hiding underneath all the layers of conventional society rules. She can be downright smutty, very sensual and very loving on times and would love the opportunity to share that side too. Sex with someone you trust is fun, it’s liberating and your body can do amazing things once cast in a lover’s spell.

R. F. Lange

Website: R. F. Lange

R. F. Lange is a writer of whatever tickles his perverse fancy. He believes erotica not only helps break through the social taboos about sex, but that it can also help us understand our own desires a little more intimately.

Rebecca

Middle aged with plumpy hips and breasts that enter a room before her. Vertically challenged bundle of fun, with a glass half full temperament yet a steely core. Mother of plenty, wife of one, lover of some. Who has learned that to desire and be desired doesn’t depend on deprivation of donuts. And that to truly enjoy the sex she has discovered, she has had to learn to truly enjoy herself, and the scars and marks and flaws of her body are the journey of life.

Sally Sparkles

Twitter: @Sallysparkles03

Since I love reading smut so much I thought it was about time I tried my hand at writing some. So after considerable encouragement from some possibly deluded friends… here I am! As a mature woman with moderate experience in sexual dalliances I hope I don’t disappoint anyone, but I’m sure it will all be good fun and I look forward to the challenge. My other interests are gin, in copious amounts, and kick boxing, although preferably not at the same time.

Samantha

Tumblr: Domme…with dogs

Most of my smut writing experience is either fanfiction several years ago, or more recently doing one off short stories for my partner.

Other than that, my life mostly consists of work (all three jobs), school, pole dance (I love learning new tricks and challenging my body in fun new ways), my dogs (sometimes I think they’re better than people) and baking (cookies are my favorite!)

Sammi

I love writing prose and poetry, both erotic and horror-themed, and I’ve got a novel or two in the works. My first short story was published in Summer Loving. Stella Kiink

Website: Stella Kiink
Twitter: @StellaKiink

Hi there, I’m Stella.

Some of you may remember seeing me post often for Wicked Wednesday and Sinful Sunday in the past. Others will have no idea who I am I’m sure. I’ve had a few slow years where my writing has been practically nonexistent. (I didn’t even manage one post a month in 2017.) I’m not sure why that is exactly but I do know I need to stop, or start as it were.

I do quite enjoy writing, especially erotica, and feel something is missing when I am not writing. This is what lead me to joining in the Smut Marathon for 2018. I may only make it a few laps, or I may reach the finish line. The only way to know for sure is to try. And win or lose, there will be plenty learned along the way.

You can find me on Twitter most days, but it has been months since I’ve been on most of my other social media accounts. Maybe that will change as the year progresses as well.

Good luck to all the participants. I am looking forward to the assignments and reading what you all have written.

Su Orwell

Website: Jennifer Worrell – Author of Short Fiction

Su Orwell is a Smut Marathon virgin, but is prepared to sleep her way to the top of the ranks. It’s been a long time since she’s had a proper nap.

Su is not her real name. Once in 8th grade, a girl drew tits on a YA paperback she borrowed from the library. Out of embarrassment and lack of funds, Su has never returned it. Deepest apologies to Oriole Park branch; she hopes she wasn’t the reason they turned into a karate studio. Although she does not recommend defiling books, there is an upside to this tale: After this incident, she escaped to live in a hot, wet cave, where she can finally walk around without pants.

Violet

I’m Violet, sole author of Fire & Honey. I consider myself both loquacious and voracious when it comes to erotica. I particularly enjoy the interplay of mind and body, where the corporeal meets the cerebral and I truly believe our brains are our hottest sex organs.

Zara Smith

Website: RisqueViews
Twitter: @risqueviews

I recently began my own sex blog so I could share information, educate and write reviews of adult products and sex toys. Since beginning the blog I have started to experiment with writing erotic fiction, I have only written a few stories so far but I want to keep practicing to help me develop my writing skills. I’m learning so much on this journey and I’m trying to get involved with other bloggers and writers in the community, starting out is really hard to do but I’m going to keep at it and try to write more and more. I suffer from mental illness and am recovering so the journey to becoming an actual writer has had it’s struggles but it’s always been my dream to write. Educating people is something I enjoy and I plan on writing more informative posts on a range of topics including sex and sexual health.
My goal is to give the Smut marathon a go and hope that I learn somethings in the process, my biggest fear is not being able to submit something every fortnight but I plan to do my best.
I’ve studied writing in my own spare time and will enjoy learning more writing tips in the lead up to the first prompt. I never thought I’d enjoy writing erotic stories but I really do and I have lots more smut in me to write about in future.
I’m on most social networks you can find my page on Facebook, on Tumblr I’m RisqueviewsZara and on google+ I’m Zara Smith I spend most of my time on twitter but do pop onto the other pages when I can so please head over and give me a like or follow. Most importantly visit my blog and don’t forget to follow me and sign up for email updates. I look forward to connecting with you.
