Smut Marathon 2018: Results round 2

After a week of nail-biting and intense nerves, it is time to reveal not only the results of the second round, but also the 40 writers who will go through to the third round. Yes, there are 22 writers who will sadly have to leave the marathon, as has been described in the rules. I know it’s a lot, but it is needed in order for the stories to get longer.

I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every entry that has been written for the marathon assignments and was sad when I saw which writers have to leave the race. I would have loved to have everyone in the race until the end, but if we have 75 writers who each have to write a 1000-word story, that would be too much of a burden on the jury and the public. The rules are set up in such a way that it is manageable for everyone.

Speaking of votes… I would love to get a lot more votes from the public. Please spread the word about the Smut Marathon, because the more voters we have, the better!

Writers, whether you go through to the next round or not, always be proud of what you have written!

Let’s get down to the roundup of the second round of the Smut Marathon 2018!

Public vote

During the voting round I keep track of all the votes, and when I see irregularities or strange patterns, I take action. The action can either be a warning to a writer, the elimination of a vote or the disqualification of a writer. I do give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but will not tolerate any cheating. Please note that the rules clearly say: one vote per person.

That said, let’s get down to the result of the public vote.

In total 105 legitimate votes have been received (you can see the voting in the images below).

We have a tie for the first and third places:

  • Winners of the public vote are Exhibit A with Model Boyfriend and Alalya Minette with Pick Me
  • The first runner up is Nicole Wolfe with The Keepsake
  • The second runners up are Mrs. Robinson with Siren’s Call and Cara Thereon with Fortune Teller

This is the full result of the public vote:

  1. Posy Churchgate says:

I am sad (of course) not to go through to any further rounds, but I had been feeling very outclassed. Even when voting for what I liked, I didn’t seem to be on the same page as the judges! Anyway you guys, I shall still be reading and voting, so well done those who have survived for another round, I look forward to reading/commenting on what you produce!
