Smut Marathon 2018: Results round 6

With round 6, we have reached the last round of the classification, where writers could accumulate points to help them through to the elimination rounds (rounds 7 -10) of the Smut Marathon. As from round 7, those with the least votes will be knocked out of the race. The number of writers per round is as follows:

  • Round 7: 20
  • Round 8: 15
  • Round 9: 10
  • Round 10: 7

This means that today, five writers will leave the Smut Marathon. I am proud of each and every writer in the marathon, of those who go through but also those who are knocked out. There are some writers that have shown such a huge growth from the moment they started in round 1, until now in round 6. Please remember to be proud of yourself too! You have all done SO well!

Public vote

During the voting round I keep track of all the votes, and when I see irregularities or strange patterns, I take action. The action can either be a warning to a writer, the elimination of a vote or the disqualification of a writer. I do give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but will not tolerate any cheating. Please note that the rules clearly say: one vote per person.

That said, let’s get down to the result of the public vote.

In total 63 legitimate votes have been received (you can see the voting in the images below).

The result of the public vote for this round is as follows:

Knocked out

As always, I am sad to see writers go, but the rules say that only 20 writers can start in round 7. Therefore the following five writers have to leave the race:

  • Helen Scott
  • Charlton C. Tod
  • Julie Jones
  • Samantha
  • Badkitten74

Thank you all for your participation and wonderful stories!

Just a side note: Those of you that have known me for longer, know that I am a statistics whore. This means that as the votes of the jury members come in, I document the shifting in the results. Looking at the rankings at the end of round 5, the 5 writers that were at the bottom were Charlton T. Tod, Julie Jones, Samantha, Badkitten74 and Mike Bruno. After receiving the first judge’s votes, Charlton T. Tod was ‘safe’ and Helen Scott took his place. Then the votes of the second judge came in, saving Mike Bruno from being knocked out, and here The Other Livvy took his place. The third judge’s votes brought no change to this situation, but when the fourth judge’s votes came in, The Other Livvy was back in the race and Charlton T. Tod moved back to being knocked out. The last judge’s points and the votes of the jury didn’t change this anymore.

Next assignment

Thank you to everyone who have written for this round and thank you to all the voters who have taken the time to read the entries, to vote and for those who have given feedback.

The writers will be sent the seventh assignment later today and have until midnight CET (Amsterdam time) on 11 August 2018 to have their stories in my inbox.

The next voting round opens on 12 August 2018 and I would love to see a lot of voters then!
