Smut Marathon 2018: Results round 7

Round 7 is the first round of the Smut Marathon where writers receiving the least points (jury and public combined) are knocked out of the Smut Marathon. Since only 15 writers go through to round eight (which officially is the quarter final), it means that three writers are knocked out in this round.

During the voting round, each time I got the votes from the jury members, I took the standings of the public votes and that of the jury, and checked who where at the bottom of the rankings. Three writers remained at the bottom until the last jury member’s votes came in. Then, one person was ‘saved’ from elimination and allowed to go through to the quarter finals. I love the dynamics of the votes and really wish we could get more votes during each voting round!

Okay, enough sidetracking from my side. Let’s get on to the official part of this round!

Public vote

During the voting round I keep track of all the votes, and when I see irregularities or strange patterns, I take action. The action can either be a warning to a writer, the elimination of a vote or the disqualification of a writer. I do give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but will not tolerate any cheating. Please note that the rules clearly say: one vote per person.

That said, let’s get down to the result of the public vote.

In total 60 legitimate votes have been received (you can see the voting in the images below).

The result of the public vote for this round is as follows:

Winner: The Red File – Violet
First runner up: Washed Clean – Exhibit A
Second runner up: Barefoot and Bitless – May More

Knocked out

Only 15 writers are allowed to go through to the quarter finals – round 8. According to the overall results above, the following writers are knocked out of the race:

  • Mike Bruno
  • Nicole Wolfe
  • Sammi

The two writers who had not sent in their stories for round 7 and were automatically knocked out because of that are Nero Black and David Watson.

Thank you to everyone who participated and to everyone who has taken the time to read and vote! I really cannot express how much this means to me!

Next assignment

To all the writers who have made to the quarter finals – congratulations!

Writers will be sent the eighth assignment later today and have until midnight CET (Amsterdam time) on 15 September 2018 to have their stories in my inbox.

The next voting round opens on 16 September 2018 and I would love to see a lot of voters then!

Wow shocked at my score as much of my feedback on previous post said how people did not like the uncomfortable feeling they got from my entry. TY to all who took time to vote 😉
