Smut Marathon 2019: Results round 5

For the fifth assignment, the writers were all thrown into the dark. Some of them stayed in the dark, others ventured into the light, but all of them wrote wonderful and sexy stories.

When I announced the results for the fourth voting round, I mentioned that I had some news about the anthology of the Smut Marathon 2018. I haven’t revealed anything just yet, but soon, very soon, I will! It’s really going to happen!

Public vote

During the voting round I keep track of all the votes, and when I see irregularities or strange patterns, I take action. The action can either be a warning to a writer, the elimination of a vote or the disqualification of a writer. I do give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but will not tolerate any cheating. Please note that the rules clearly say: one vote per person.

That said, let’s get down to the result of the public vote.

In total 72 legitimate votes were received (you can see the voting in the images below).

Winner of the public vote (tie) : Marsha Adams with Twos and Blues and Zebra Rose with Dirty Girl
First runner up : Exhibit A with First Time: Redux
Second runner up (tie): Hyacinth Jones with Weathering the Storm and Lord Byron’s Ghost with The Blind Leading and Jade Melisande with In the Dark

Knocked out

Round 5 was not a knockout round, but some writers have chosen not to send in their assignments, for various reasons. My advice will always be: keep on writing! Even when you are low in the rankings, keep on writing, because you always win, even if you are knocked out. Participating teaches you more about your own writing, and reading the feedback on your own story and that of others is very helpful too!

That said, round 6 will be a knockout round. Only 30 writers advance to round 7. Round 6 is also the last round of the rankings, as from now on every round will be a knockout round. At the end of round 6 our first winner will be announced: the winner of the rankings phase, and thanks to Satisfyer, there is a prize for the writer who wins the rankings phase.

Next assignment

Thank you to everyone who have written for this round and thank you to all the voters who have taken the time to read the entries, to vote and for those who have given feedback. I know this has been a difficult round for everyone involved!

The writers will be sent the sixth assignment later today and have until midnight CET (Amsterdam time) on 3 July 2019 to have it in my inbox (see the countdown in the sidebar).

The next voting round opens on 7 July 2019. Please make sure you take the time to vote, as your vote can determine whether a writer stays in the race or not!
