Smut Marathon 2019: Results round 7

Image of a bronze colored padlock with a red heart on it.Round 7 is the first of the knockout phase of the Smut Marathon, meaning that those who ended with the least points (jury and public combined) at the end of the seventh voting round, will have to leave the competition. This is regardless of the points those writers have accumulated in the first six rounds of the competition.

Since we had 26 writers in the seventh round, and only 21 are allowed to advance to round 8, this means we will have to say goodbye to 5 writers. This is the point of the competition I really don’t like (yep, I know I am the one who made the rules, but it doesn’t mean I have to like it), as writers who have done really well in the first six rounds, might be knocked out in this phase of the competition. Doing well in the rankings phase doesn’t guarantee a place in the final.

The prompt wasn’t easy. A picture prompt never is, but in this phase of the competition we can expect of writers to handle this kind of prompt. Yes, this also means that gradually the assignments will get a bit tougher, but what is tough to one might not be to another.

I guess this means it’s time to look at the results of the seventh round!

Public vote

During the voting round I keep track of all the votes, and when I see irregularities or strange patterns, I take action. The action can either be a warning to a writer, the elimination of a vote or the disqualification of a writer. I do give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but will not tolerate any cheating. Please note that the rules clearly say: one vote per person.

That said, let’s get down to the result of the public vote.
